Aidan McConnell once used his special psychic abilities to help find the missing. But after the media made him the scapegoat for a child’s death, he retreated from the world and became a recluse.

Lexie Nolan is a small-town reporter with big vision. She was the first to connect a series of disappearances among teenage girls to a serial killer…but nobody will listen to her.

Lexie is in desperate need of help from the sexy psychic who's an expert in finding people. And even though Aidan loathes the media, he can’t help being drawn in to the passionate, beautiful reporter.

COLD SIGHT Extrasensory Agents Book 1 edition by Leslie A Kelly Romance eBooks

I read this book the first time it was published, and loved it then. Ms. Kelly has fine tuned and updated Cold Touch, and I loved it on this read, as well.

Impressions -

1 - Ms. Kelly does not hold back on the ramping up of the tension in this story. (There is kidnapping, graphic violence, but no graphic sexual assault scenes) I had to set the book down a few times because I could not take the tension. Creepy and very well done.

2 - Although some of the characters in the series have extrasensory abilities, their abilities are not used as a crutch to solve the mystery. There is still good, old-fashioned detecting going on. The psychic aspects add to the story, but not in a "oh, my gawd, wasn't THAT too convenient?" kind of way.

3 - The suspense portion of the book outweighed the romance portion of the book, but I didn't feel cheated on either.

What worked for me -

I loved Lexie. She is a spit-fire. Even though her confidence had taken a hit, she kept on trying to do the right thing. And she was so good with Aiden.

Aiden was in a self-imposed exile after a case had gone badly. When he realized he could possibly help Lexie stop the crimes happening in Granville, he jumped in. He was wary, and not sure he was making the right choice, but he did it anyway.

Loved the secondary characters. Olivia's book is up next, and has also been previously published. I cannot wait for Mick and Julia's stories.

What didn't work as well - nothing comes to mind.

Bottom line - Excellent thriller with strong romantic elements. Well written with great flow. Strong characters who don't make stupid choices. All in all, a very enjoyable read.

COLD SIGHT Extrasensory Agents Book 1 edition by Leslie A Kelly Romance eBooks Reviews

If you believe in psychic abilities, like I do, this is a great book. It's the first in a series of four books about Extrasensory Agents. This one focused on Aidan and Lexie's story. A bunch of teenage girls go missing over a three year time span. Lexie is a reporter trying to prove that these girls didn't just leave town. She goes to Aidan for help when the latest girl goes missing. Their search for the girl turns up lots of hidden secrets for quite a few prominent town people. Keep reading through the epilogue for a surprising turn. Well written characters and a good plot. Looking forward to the rest of the series!!!
The story is dark and brooding. The victims are teenage girls going missing in a town that seems not to care. The town itself has a dark history and a secret clubhouse where the most heinous crimes are committed.

Lexie and Aidan are the two who are looking for answers. Even though she doesn't quite believe in his psychic powers and he hates her profession they quickly become a force to be reckoned with and finally get to the bottom of what has been going on in their town.

The story was gripping from start to finish and a true mystery. The town revelations were truly shocking and unexpected. A very interesting book that I would happily recommend.
If you like the Krewe of Hunters series by Heather Graham, you will love this series. The thriller part of the book is in my opinion even better than Krewe -- there is tension, the bad guy isn't obvious, and there is a real investigation to determine the instigator in addition to the use of a variety of extrasensory gifts by some of the characters.

Ms. Kelly does an excellent job with all the characters in the books. And yes, there is romance and yes, there are a couple of sexy scenes or so in every book but the thriller portion is still the majority of the story. I've already roared through the first three in the series, and look forward to the fourth (the last currently available).

If you like thrillers with a variety of extra gifted investigators and some steamy romance mixed in - don't miss this series!
Young girls have been disappearing from a small Georgia town. Reporter Lexie Nolan believes there is more to it than them all being runaways but no one will listen to her. She enlists the help of Aiden, a reclusive psychic whose last case went incredibly bad. He is reluctant to help but has to if there is anything he can do to help solve the disappearances.

This is a dark and twisted book. Both Lexie and Aiden and vulnerable characters. The bad guy is not who you expect him to be. I don't normally read paranormal book but this book grabbed me from the first page and I couldn't put it down. I just had to find out what was going to happen next. This is the first in a series and I will read the rest in the series.
Aidan McConnell is a psychic living in retirement - in hiding, we might say - after making a mistake and subsequently being blamed for a child's death. Blamed not only by others, but by himself.

Lexie Nolan is a reporter with the local small-town newspaper. She, too, is in disgrace, after claiming that a series of missing teenage girls were not runaways and quite separate incidents, but all victims of kidnapping and possibly murder at the hands of local people important enough to be able to cover the whole thing up. This of course led to accusations of jumping to conclusions and threats of libel suits, and brought her paper into disrepute. Now she is hanging onto her job by the skin of her teeth.

But when another teenage girl goes missing and Lexie is expected to report it as simply another runaway kid from a "garbage family", she has had enough. She knows of Aidan McConnell, of course, knows his story, and while not believing in "all that psychic nonsense" knows that he has a record of successfully locating victims such as this girl. Only she prefers to call it intuition, having a hunch.

At first he is not remotely interested, but when they do finally get their act together ...

The corrupt mayor, judge, police chief and bank manager are vividly portrayed and totally convincing. A small-town version of the Washington DC swamp. Perfect.
